Casa Llimona
Living History
Tucked inside a modernist building in Barcelona’s Eixample, Casa Llimona is a living story of the city itself. Over the years, it has housed bourgeois families, the studio of sculptor Josep Llimona, and even a bank office, each leaving traces that quietly define its character.
The space has been continuously shaped by everything that has passed through it. Our design strategy respected its history, preserving architectural details and materiality that bridge tradition with contemporary living.
The hotel’s identity reflects this dialogue between old and new: the logo hints at traces of its past, while archival imagery and curated design elements bring its rich heritage into the present. Conceived as a modular system, the identity combines a refined, classical construction with a more dynamic and flexible composition, echoing both the building’s layered history and the understated minimalism of its contemporary interiors.
To reinforce the idea of Casa Llimona as a home rather than a hotel, warmth became a guiding principle throughout the visual language. Natural light and selected scenes create an atmosphere of intimacy and familiarity, inviting guests to feel less like visitors and more like temporary residents.
Every element contributes to a sense of continuity between past and present, where memory is reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. And in case you’re curious, each room is named after someone who once called this place home.
