Say it and listen
A proposal deemed 'too daring' by our commissioning institution.
Embracing ‘No’ as Opportunity
This is a proposal that the institution that commissioned us rejected as “too daring.” However, as we strongly believe in the power of this message and what it proposes, we don’t want it to be forgotten, so we’ve decided to share it with those who want to amplify the message. We weren’t going to let such a relevant message be lost in the archives.
The original mission was to create a campaign for youth about preventing STIs/HIV and promoting healthy relationships. Despite the client’s “NO” due to it being deemed too “risky,” we knew this topic needed to resonate, so we decided to push forward and launch it on our own. Our approach is anything but fear; we want to promote kindness and responsibility in a close and positive way.
Normalizing Conversations
Based on the insight that social media users create their own slang to evade platform content restrictions and censorship to communicate about topics they consider important, we adapted our campaign to the language of the audience, normalizing the conversation about prevention. We want them to enjoy their sexual lives while taking care of themselves, so we designed messages that highlight safe and pleasurable behaviors. We reinforce the idea that pleasure is linked to care in sexual relationships.
The Mouth: Key in Communication
In our messages, we emphasize that pleasure goes hand in hand with self-care, regardless of the type of relationship you have. And to give it that graphic touch, we made the mouth the center of attention, because communication is key. We used eye-catching graphics to show the diversity in how everyone experiences their sexuality.
We filled the streets of Barcelona with our posters and messages so that the message can reach more people, and we also created digital kits that we’ve been sending to foundations dedicated to sexual health.
An Open Campaign
Through our social media channels, we announced that the digital kit is available for anyone who wants to use it. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that this message multiplies and reaches foundations committed to sexual health, aiding in the education and empowerment of everyone. Prevention and awareness are key, and we are committed to doing our part in spreading such a relevant message.
